April 2025
Dear Tillotson Families,
Fourth quarter, here we come! With the beginning of the new nine-weeks and spring on the horizon, take a look at some of the recent happenings and what’s in store for April!
Tillotson is Growing
We are excited to welcome an additional two students to Tillotson! As always, thank you to everyone who spreads the wonderful news about our school and what we have to offer. Here is some additional information about Tillotson that you may not know!
-Tillotson School is under the umbrella of our non-profit organization, ACLD Inc. We believe that individuals with disabilities should experience success for a lifetime. Stay tuned for additional programs coming soon!
-Our school sees leveling up as a big deal! When our students transition from elementary to middle school, middle to high school, and life after high school, we have celebrations in store for each momentous occasion!
-We are now enrolling for the 2025-2026 School Year! If you are interested in learning more about our school, please visit the Admissions tab on our website to learn more about our referral process and to schedule a tour.
Building Bridges
We are thrilled to be partnering with 412 Food Rescue for our summer volunteer experiences! If you know of any businesses that could use our student volunteers or who would like to come to the school to teach our youth something new, please let us know! We are excited to have a few new partnerships in the works, and will announce them once it’s official!
Recent Happenings
March was a busy month! Take a look below at some of the activities we had:
March 5 – National Snack Day
Students and staff were treated to an afternoon snack of their choice for National Snack Day!
March 13 – National Popcorn Day
We ordered a little too much and had popcorn for days! What a great mid-week treat!
March 14 – Pi Night
We celebrated the number Pi on 3.14! Students and their families enjoyed an evening of food, games, math, and of course – apple pie!
March 31 – Project Prom
Students picked out some amazing outfits at Project Prom for the upcoming dance!
April 1 – Zoo Field Trip
Each year, Mrs. Weber and Ms. Kovacik take our 9th grade students to go behind the scenes at the zoo! Students get a sneak peek of what a day in the life of a zookeeper is like, and all the different jobs that keep the Pittsburgh Zoo running.
